The Beginning of our Journey

Yo!
Welcome to our blog, where we get to share our thoughts with all of you following along. Alhamdulilah, we’re kicking off a new journey to help our fellow youth deal with Muslim identity struggles and, more importantly, to embrace it and own it! We honestly have no idea what the future holds—only Allah knows—but we’re so hyped to start building our fan base, connecting with you all, and just being there for anyone who’s trying to figure it all out.

It’s funny though, you always hear people saying “youth are the future,” “the youth are gonna take over,” and “youth hold the key to the success of the masjid.” But honestly? Growing up, it didn’t always feel like that. I remember going to certain mosques (no names, don’t worry) and feeling super unwelcomed. Like, we got kicked outside just for catching up with some friends, while the older folks doing the exact same thing got nothing. Weird, right?

The main thing I want to say here? Don’t take it personally, and for sure don’t hold it against the masjid. There are just some people who don’t get it and don’t realize the harm they’re doing. And don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself. I used to be raised with the idea that not confronting people when you’re wronged was the “high road.” But nah, I don’t buy that anymore. You can stand up for yourself and have a healthy conversation. No shame in that.

Anyway, random blog post, but it needed to be said! Lol. Thanks for reading, y’all!

By loud, be proud, be shrouded.
